To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?
This series is one of my favorite series right now! So I had High hopes for this book, and I was definitely not disappointed! This was the perfect ending for this trilogy. I was so excited about reading this one! I had to wait for my friend to read it before I did, and let me tell you that that was just torture. It got so bad, that at one point I actually stole it form her in class and was having thoughts whether or not to run for it or not! hehe
There is so much to say about this book! There are a couple betrayals, many lies, corruption, new and old love, tons of action, many secrets revealed(for example "are Clary and Jace really brother and sister?) and some people die who are bad and good...
Overall, this was a great book! Probably had the most action by far. I absolutely loved this series and can't wait for New trilogy to come out that are prequels to the mortal instruments! I recommend this series to everybody, so go out and read it now!
